Which Dragon’s Dogma 2 Magick Archer skills should you use? Both able to dish out elemental damage and support allies, the Magick Archer is perhaps the best class for your Arisen to take on as it can handle just about any situation. Massive ogre in your way? Knock it down with giant ice arrow blocks. Pawn need reviving amid a swarm of goblins? Shoot a reviving arrow its way. Truly, no other class is as versatile as the Magick Archer.

If the Magick Archer in Dragon’s Dogma 2 doesn’t suit your playstyle, consider taking a deeper look at all Dragon’s Dogma 2 vocations in the game. As it’s quite difficult to find out how to unlock the advanced vocations, getting a good lay of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 map will stop you from getting lost as you explore the vast, monster-filled wilds. Otherwise, read on to learn the best Magick Archer build.

Best Dragon’s Dogma 2 Magick Archer skills

To ensure your Magick Archer is as versatile as possible, we recommend taking the weapon skill of each elemental ability along with a supportive healing skill. This will allow you to tackle any monsters you come across, big or small, as you explore while keeping your Pawns alive and well. That said, the Martyr’s Bolt Maister skill is one of the most powerful skills in the game with a massive drawback – it permanently saps your health until you rest, but will eviscerate all regular foes and delete multiple health bars off bosses.

The best Dragon’s Dogma 2 Magick Archer skills are:

  • Frosthunter Bolt
  • Candescent Orb
  • Boltchain Stake
  • Recovery Arrow

Arctic Bolt

This is, believe it or not, the bread-and-butter of a Magick Archer’s kit when going up against big foes and an upgrade over Hailstone Bolt. By holding down the attack button longer, you will summon a bigger and bigger block of ice to fire at a foe. Aiming can be rather unwieldy, but it’s one of the best skills in the game to interrupt powerful attacks and trip up enemies – especially if you smack them with it in the head or feet.

Candescent Orb

This upgrade to Irradiant Orb, much like Frosthunter Bolt, is a bit unwieldy to aim; however, shooting it in the general area of a mob of enemies will set them alight and brighten up the area, making this a great skill to fight against enemies weak to fire and to help with exploring in the dark. Firing more than one of these onto the ground will create a barrier of sorts that does damage and sets foes alight, making for amazing crowd control.

Boltchain Stake

This upgrade to Sparkchain Stake combines with the regular Pinpoint Volley attack to spread electric chains between many enemies or just a single foe, resulting in damage over time. Beginning a fight by firing off a Boltchain Stake will ensure you maximize your damage as you switch to recovering allies or exploiting other weaknesses. Speaking of weaknesses, we found enemies to be most often susceptible to lightning strikes through most of the game, especially when it begins to rain, adding even more utility to this skill.

Recovery Arrow

Recovery Arrow is one of the best healing spells in the game. As an upgrade to Remedy Arrow, charging it up and shooting allies (don’t worry – the Magick Archer’s arrows lock on) will restore a ton of health. Furthermore, one of the most dangerous times in a Dragon’s Dogma 2 battle is when one or multiple Pawns get knocked out and you need to revive them. Charge Recovery Arrow all the way up, which takes only a few seconds, and you can bring them back into the fight from afar.

While the above four skills we wholeheartedly recommend, switching up your Magick Archer’s kit at a campfire or an inn before taking on as specific boss is definitely the way to go, especially when they’re resistant to one of the three elemental types you’ll bring along with you. Also, once again, Martyr’s Bolt is insane.

Now that you’ve put together a powerful Magick Archer build, be sure to pair it with a Fighter to keep the enemies off him/her. A Mage Pawn also works well as the Magick Archer has trouble healing itself; as a result, you’ll likely have an incredibly robust party.
